  2. Return completed application in person to the Vidalia Fire Department Station 1 Administrative Secretary

Qualifications

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • be a citizen of the United States
  • possess a valid high school diploma or GED certificate
  • possess a valid drivers license and social security card
  • pass a criminal background check
  • pass drug screening
  • pass a physical agility exam/test
  • pass an oral interview



Candidate Training

All Candidates are required to complete 17 Weeks of  Candidate Training

Successful completion of the following is required during Candidate Training

  • IFSTA Hazardous Materials Awareness
  • IFSTA Hazardous Materials Operations
  • IFSTA 1001 Firefighter I
  • IFSTA 1001 Firefighter II
  • IFSTA Pumper Driver Operator
  • IFSTA Aerial Driver Operator
  • National Registry Emergency Medical Technician

TRAINING  WILL BE DONE AT

THE VIDALIA FIRE DEPARTMENT TRAINING CENTER

 

TESTING WILL BE DONE AT

FIRE AND EMERGENCY TRAINING INSTITUTE
